The Lord Mayor’s Show

The Lord Mayor’s Show dates back to the early 13th century, when King John rashly allowed the City of London to appoint its own Mayor. The King insisted that each newly-elected Mayor should come to Westminster and swear loyalty to the Crown, and the Mayor of London has been making that journey for over 800 years. Around him (and her) grew up the noisy, colourful, joyous procession that over the centuries became known as the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Masters’ and Clerks’ Luncheon

Due to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this luncheon has now been postponed until a date in October or mid-November. 

Masters’ and Clerks’ of forty Livery Companies have been invited to Luncheon on Monday, 19th September 2022.

Members of the Farmers’ Company are now invited to apply for a ticket to co-host this event with our Master & Clerk.

This invitation is strictly for Liverymen and Freemen of the Company.

As booking is limited to approximately forty members of the Company, tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and then a wait-list will be formed.

Installation of the new Master

The Installation Reception and Luncheon will be held on Tuesday 11th October 2022 at Haberdashers’ Hall, West Smithfield, London EC1A 9HQ at 12.30 for 1.10pm. The Haberdashers are a “Great Twelve” Livery Company.

The Luncheon will follow a Service of Harvest Thanksgiving at The Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, off West Smithfield, at 11.30am. Please be seated by 11.20am. The Installation of the new Master and Wardens will take place in the Church immediately after the Service, following which they will process to Haberdashers’ Hall. The charge for the lunch includes rental of Haberdashers’ Hall which will, we hope, accommodate all those who wish to attend. If you do, please book on-line or complete the form below to confirm payment by bank transfer.

Everyone attending the Luncheon will be welcome at the Church Service and Installation.
