We are proud of the impact we have on UK agriculture and we continue to support education, particularly younger students, and we work hard to support and promote our industry. Here are some of the impacts we make:
On our core activity of Education:
- We have held 95 courses since 1963
- 1700 students have completed our courses
- There are now 300 active members of the Alumni Association
- We organise the annual Learning Extension Day at Cranfield for continuing professional development of our alumni
- We support 2 students every year at the Oxford Farming Conference
- We organise the annual ‘Agricultural Lecture’, given by a prominent industry leader, and attracting some 300 influential industry practitioners
On supporting younger students:
- We give about £40,000 per year to support agricultural education of younger students
On promoting the industry:
- We help organise the seminal City Food Lecture, held annually
- We have a major role in the Lords Mayor’s Show
- We hold ‘Question Time’, with major industry influencers
- We participate in pan-livery events such as the Pancake Race, Golf, Ski-ing, Golf and Clay Pigeon shooting
On supporting the industry:
- We assist with the running of the City Farms movement, especially at Surrey docks
- We publish an annual research report, sponsored by the Master
