12th October 2021 saw the installation of Karen Mercer as the 69th Master of the Worshipful Company of Farmers. Thanks to the relaxation of many of the Covid-19 rules, we were back in our traditional - and magnificent - setting of St Bartholomew-the-Great in Smithfield, London’s oldest parish church. A good many liverymen attended and were treated to a superb service with a beautiful choral accompaniment, followed by lunch at the Haberdasher’s Hall.

Karen has taken over from Richard Whitlock, now the ‘Immediate Past Master’. Karen became a Liveryman in 2009 and joined Court in 2012. Karen is a very active member of the Livery, sitting on many of its committees and has chaired the Henman, Brooks and Jubilee before Chairing Education. The theme for her Livery year is ‘The future of the Family Farm’.
