WCF Lincolnshire Dinner Tuesday 9th November 2021

Dinner held in honour of current Master, Karen Mercer.

Start date: 9th November 2021
End date: 9th November 2021

The first Lincolnshire dinner was held in 2004 at the suggestion of Liveryman Michael Anyan. It was held to celebrate the Mastership of the late Philip Gibbons.

A dinner was held in 2016 for Past Master Philip Wynn and also in 2018 for Past Master Rosie Carne.

It was decided to hold a dinner in honour of our current Master Karen Mercer. The Master’s brothers and sister all farm in Lincolnshire very near Hemswell Court where the dinner was held.

The format of the dinner has remained unchanged since inception. After a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Openfield three course alumni give a brief account of their time on the courses and the impact it has had on themselves and the business. The courses were represented by Liz Genever (CRL 2016 ) , Simon Day (ACABM 2018 ) and Benjamin Jackson (BGP 2018) .

Liverymen and alumni who were not able to be there or no longer with us were remembered by Liveryman Hugh Wykes in a toast to Absent Friends.

Liverymen Stephen Fell proposed a toast to the Master and recounted her wide range of interests and involvement in many organisations.

The Master outlined her plans for the year and proposed a toast to “ Our Guests “. She welcomed Group Captain Stephen Kilvington Station Commander of RAF Waddington.

During the course of the evening photographs of Liverymen and Alumni. A fitting way to remember an evening of fellowship in Lincolnshire.
