Christmas Court and Lunch

The December Court meeting of the Company was held on 7th December.

Start date: 7th December 2021
End date: 7th December 2021

The December Court meeting of the Company was held at the beautiful 18th century Ironmongers Hall. Two new liverymen John Hardman and Bill Young were clothed at the meeting and Chris Philpot was accepted as a Freeman of the Company. This was followed by a splendid Christmas lunch of famous Copas turkey with all the trimmings, in the grand setting of the Banqueting Hall. The Principal guest was Jake Freestone of Overbury Farms near Tewkesbury. Jake spoke about his innovative approach to the management of the 1600ha family farm. Following the Master’s festive speech the lunch concluded with some very jolly tunes played by the Tim Hawes Brass Quintet. We certainly all felt in the Christmas spirit when we departed for home.
