What a cracking good evening we all enjoyed at the inaugural Farmers Livery 'Call my Wine Bluff" evening on 3rd November in the majestic setting of the Lansdowne Club.
Huge thanks to Junior Warden Guy Brogden for persevering through lockdown and delivering such an enjoyable and unique evening.
100 Liverymen, friends and family assembled and in addition to enjoying fine food took part, each table of ten being a team, in four rounds of blind wine tasting, with an esteemed panel of three experts each describing the wine being tasted, two bluffing and one giving the true description. One table of ten correctly identified the country of origin for all of the 4 wines and each took home a fabulous bottle of wine for their collected educated guessing!
What was really clever is that the call my wine bluff format worked at all levels, whether you are a seasoned wine aficionado or an enthusiastic quaffer.
Over £13,000 was raised on the night thanks to enthusiastic bidders for some extremely high quality lots, many thanks to those who generously donated and those who struck the winning bids!
Family and friends thoroughly enjoyed this very special night and it is to our credit that they all commented on what good, friendly company the livery folks were. Count us in for the next round of Call My Wine Bluff.
