City University of London, WCF prize awarded to Alex Linsley
Each year the Company awards a prize for the best dissertation of relevance to the food and farming sector written by a student studying for the MSc in Food Policy. The winner for the 2018/2019 cohort, is Alex Linsley and his dissertation was entitled: ‘The Agriculture Bill 2017-19: tensions, powers, interpretation’.
The dissertation, supervised by Prof. Tim Lang, who Alex is keen to say was enormously supportive, is about the political lobbying and jostling surrounding the new UK Agriculture Bill, and in particular the ‘public money for public goods’ subsidy mechanism and how this Bill will affect agriculture and food in England after Brexit. It is an outstanding piece of research and obtained an exceptionally high grade of 88%.
This is of course a hot topic at this very moment and Alex’s paper makes for interesting reading so to download a summary of the paper follow this link 200214 Linsley Dissertation Summary For Wfc
