2019 - The 25th Anniversary ILCS Competition - call for WCF participants

ILCS 2019

Details of the 25thAnniversary, ILCS competition, which is to take place next year at the Holland & Holland shooting grounds on Wednesday 15th& Thursday 16th May, have been announced and the Worshipful Company of Farmers has decided to enter two teams again. The 2018 event was once again very successful, with over 112 teams, representing 62 Livery Company’s, participating and a total of £7,600 donated to a wide range of charities, including the Lord Mayor's.

The 2019 iteration promises to be even more enjoyable with some special enhancements planned to commemorate the anniversary.

After a year or two of foreign trips in May, Past Master Tony Alston returns to organise our teams for the 2019 event. We plan to enter at least two teams, and hope to select a team capable of lifting the main trophy. It would be nice to re-gain the Horners' Trophy for the top Court team, but I fear the adjudicators have improved their counting abilities!

Anybody interested in coming to the Holland and Holland range in north London on 15/16 May 2019- we will know which day later- please contact Tony Alston, via the Clerk, if necessary or by emailing tonyalston@hotmail.com. Guest are welcome - but try to make sure he/she is an even better shot than yourself!

Details of the Event

As part of the 25thanniversary Nicolas Ollivier , Director of Shooting at Holland & Holland, has agreed to partner with the ILSC and will be presenting new prizes and enabling the new facilities to be used, which will enhance the experience of the liverymen attending the event.

Also now formerly on the organizing team, we welcome Richard Ferrand (Fishmonger).Richard brings a wealth of experience from the events Industry, and with his knowledge, boundless enthusiasm, the event will go from strength to strength.

To accommodate the increasing number of entries experienced over recent years and to make the event more enjoyable for everyone, the organisers have decided to split the event over TWO days. This allows start times for 2019 to be later, breakfast will be from 7.30am with shooting starting at 9.30am, lunch being served in the new club house, this will reduce the queuing and more importantly offer a better opportunity for Liveryman to meet other Liveryman and have time to talk.

Company teams of up to five teams will be able to shoot on the same day, those with more than five teams will shoot over the two days. The day will be allocated by a draw of Livery Company names at the end of November and teams will be advised as to which day they are shooting well in advance.

With the two day format presenting prizes is not possible at that time. So there will also be a prize winner’s ceremony at The Guildhall in the City in the autumn. All winners and their wives/partners will be asked to a champagne reception. Results and winners will be shown on the website on the 17thMay 2019.

Their is now a new web page www.interliveryshoot.com do please have a look and circulate to all your Shooting Liveryman.
