There are many ways one can land yourself within the Worshipful Company of Farmers: mine was one of the less orthodox. I joined before participating in one of their superb courses, even before they sponsored my Nuffield Scholarship. I joined at the tender, impressionable, age of 29, after being invited to a luncheon. The electric, fast-paced, entertaining and informative chit-chat won me over.
The Worshipful Company of Farmers may have its roots in a traditional past, but its fruits are in the future. These fruits are the result of its rather superb spread of education courses, courses which are aimed at all generations. The longest of which has run for over 67 Years! This results in the Company having both relevance and influence.
The Livery is extremely welcoming, especially to the younger generation. If you have a passion for the industry and the people within it, I strongly recommend getting to one of those luncheons that hooked me.
